The Art of Healing
I’ve resisted starting this blog for so long because it means I have to speak my truth and I have so many things to say!
Although, to be perfectly honest with you I’m pretty scared. A lot of what I have to say in this corner of the internet doesn’t go along with what a lot of popular new-age practitioners are teaching and it’s difficult to step out of the pack I’ve been a part of for so long with a new message.
I’m finally doing the thing that I’ve always known I should be doing.
The thing that I’ve told so many people who have sat opposite me in a candle lit reading room, looking to me for hope, for answers and direction that they wanted me to give them.
“What am I supposed to be doing with my life?”, I tell you, if I had a nickel…
And then in shades of vivid golds and yellow I would see the thing, their THING, emerge as an image in my mind and I would bubble up with excitement once I’d nail it and really that’s all spirit want for us; to do the unique thing that’s so thoroughly embedded in who you are that it literally lights up your life’s path.
It’s absolutely different for everyone and digging into that with a client’s spirit guides has been one of my favourite parts about working as a medium. If you’ve ever been for a reading and left thinking “I knew that’s what I needed to be doing but I just needed it to be validated”, that’s when you know that reader has hit the sweet spot. (Disclaimer: The “thing” I’m referring to, it’s not usually easy, we aren’t here for easy, it’s just not the deal).
My thing is art and here is my message…
“Creativity is the space where the unhealed spirit works itself into the light”.
It’s not theory.
it’s not unpracticed.
It’s something I’ve lived in tragic and hard times.
Head to head with spirit,
Shaking hands, broken body, relentless tears.
Paint in hand, I’ve turned to my creativity to harness and express the scattered emotions that sometimes, I didn’t even know were there.
I worked it out on the page and the page reflected back a part of myself I didn’t see or give space to before.
The creative process is essential as a human. It is delicate, moving and totally undervalued in our society.
Here’s the bit where I go against the grain… Tools like crystals, cards, runes, reiki symbols and methods to clear and change energy are amazing, they have their place in the world and I use a lot of them myself, all the time! They are supportive for sure, BUT that’s what they are. Supportive. Tools.
In all the noise and how-to’s I feel sometimes the point has been lost in the props.
YOU are your most direct route to the universal energy, and your divine creative genius deserves your attention.
No amount of psychic readings or energy healing sessions are going to get you to the nitty gritty of the things you need to heal so that you can move forward more than actually going there yourself. Working as a full-time professional psychic medium and energy healer taught me a ton about mediumship, accurate readings and listening to spirit, but what I’ve learned through the hundreds (probably thousands by now) of readings that I’ve done, is that nobody affects your energy like you can, nothing moves your energy like physical motion and nothing heals your energy like a creative outlet.
Don’t get me wrong, readings have their place and I know some great practitioners who do absolutely fantastic work, but sometimes it’s like sticking a Band-Aid on something that needs stitches. It helps, but there is a lot more work to be done to fix the problem, and I definitely subscribe to the wisdom of the old proverb “give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime”.
My answer to this is hosting an online space where you can find the support and direction you need no matter where in the world you are. To give you a precious place to face and sit with the cracks, feel all of your emotions – good and bad and work them into the gold and yellow light I was talking about. Kind of like emotional hygiene… only with meditation, words, imagination, stationary and music!
so if all that sounds like your cup of tea then head over to my community page and let’s go fishing.
